Who I Am:
I have devised and implemented strategic marketing programs for clients in architecture/building products, consumer, healthcare, advanced technology, industrial, professional services and nonprofit sectors.
A former award-winning journalist, my talents lie in synthesizing information from a variety of sources, sifting through technical jargon, translating complicated concepts into easily accessible material and projecting a clean, straightforward tone. I’ve also run large client engagements and know how client service should really be delivered. Dependable, accountable and creatively charged, my professional experience spans more than 20 years.
What’s in My Toolbox:
Copywriting: brochures, ads, articles, columns, white papers, websites, news releases, speeches, digital communications
Account service: multimedia ad campaigns, trade show support, media relations, crisis communications, brand development, collateral development, promotions and event management
My Professional Credentials:
I am accredited (APR) by the Public Relations Society of America. APR is the PR profession’s only national post-graduate certification program and its premier credential. Accreditation affirms a practitioner’s fundamental knowledge of communications theory and its application. It demonstrates advanced capabilities in research, strategic planning, implementation and evaluation. Most importantly, it formally recognizes a commitment to professional excellence and ethical conduct. I have served on my local PRSA chapter’s Programming Committee and sat as an APR accreditation panelist on numerous occasions. I also volunteer my time on numerous nonprofit boards and committees.
Outside of work:
I’m a professional guitarist, with more than 30 years of live performance experience. I currently play with The FM Project, a Steely Dan cover ensemble; The Prime Directive, a jazz/blues ensemble, which I co-founded in 2000; ICON, a popular smooth jazz quintet; and The Nerve, a classic rock band featuring physicians and professionals from University Hospitals of Cleveland.
I’m uniquely adept at depositing golf balls in heavily wooded areas and deep bodies of water.
I enjoy reading about history, world events, politics and cosmology. Quantum mechanics is a mild interest, but not yet a full-blown hobby.
