Cincinnati Bell Technology Solutions (CBTS) answered the call from General Electric (GE) to design a modern telephony solution, called GCom, for all of their divisions worldwide. The challenge was to educate everyone from C-level executives to system administrators on the merits – cost savings, system flexibility and more – of moving their voice and data communications away from traditional servers and land lines and into the cloud.

Additionally, promotion of GCom needed to be secure and initiate the selling process.


Skoda Minotti worked directly with the CBTS marketing team to design and develop a privately-hosted website that introduced this new technology in a very simple, illustrative way. A link to the website was sent by email to selected decision makers at GE for their review. Answering the basic questions – What is GCom?, Why should I use it?, and How do I get started? – the site guides the visitor through the benefits of the new solution, and concludes with a registration form to initiate a follow up call or meeting.

The site was designed using GE brand standards to communicate that this was a GE-sanctioned solicitation, not some random promotion. Additionally, we optimized the site for viewing on a mobile device to enhance readership and increase the pace of the “education”.


As a result, CBTS was able to expedite the introduction of their solution, and in effect, begin the selling process even before the first sales call. Once the recipient registered for a follow up call or meeting, they were already apprised of the benefits and more prepared to move into the design engineering phase.
